Inventory Control Lead

Position
Summary:
This Lead Person will ensure that daily departmental goals are met and assist Plant Management with leading, guiding, and directing a group of associates while meeting the objectives of Sutter Street Manufacturing in safety, service, quality, and cost.
Associate is responsible for helping to maintain inventory accuracy throughout the manufacturing process.
Associate will work with vendors (internal and external) to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained to meet current and upcoming production schedules.
Assist in develop of daily production schedules as needed.
Provide inventory related experience and knowledge support to other departments throughout the company.
Perform cycle counts when needed.
Analyze inventory related errors, provide feedback, develop root cause and associated actions to correct problems identified.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Utilize Williams-Sonoma's Mission, Vision, and Values to govern daily activities, including guidance to other associates on daily activitiesPartner with Manager to perform daily, blind cycle countsResponsible to select locations to be cycle counted for the day in accordance with enclosed guidelines Provide count instruction to the ICC teamReview count variances and assign locations for independent recountProvides weekly reporting on inventory accuracyMaintain master list of locations with date of last cycle countMaintain variance reports and evidence of independent recount for auditorsEnsure availability of materials (supplies) and resources to all associates in the team, so that they can perform their duties with maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
Ensure associates have the equipment and supplies needed to do their job; follow processes to ensure non-functional equipment is repaired or replacedEnsure downtime issues are addressed as soon as they arise through the correct channels, including systemic and mechanicalConduct root cause analysis on issues pertaining to safety, service, quality and cost and develop and implement solutions to address these root causesAdopt and endorse lean manufacturing concepts where applicableChampion change management when required and adopt a continuous improvement philosophyMaintain material handling equipment certificationKnowledgeable about Sutter Street inventory and processesMINIMUM
Qualifications:
Associate degree or a High School Diploma combined with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, material handling or inventory management.
Experience in performing physical and cycle countMust be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
occasionallyMust be able to stoop/bend & reach frequently (floor/waist/shoulder/overhead)Possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in stressful situationsExcellent math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Able to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and percentages to practical situationsDemonstrate attention to detail and possess problem solving skillsExcellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as well as reporting tools)PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant fieldMinimum 2 years of work experience in high volume distribution or manufacturingExperience with Warehouse Management SystemsLean/Six Sigma certificationBi-lingualWilliams-Sonoma, Inc.
