CAD Designer

A CAD Designer job in City of Industry, CA is available through Modis.
This position will be implementing product design using 3-D/Solids modeling PTC CREO (formerly known as Pro-E) techniques from engineering proposals.
The individual will perform the following duties.
The CAD Designer job responsibilities include:
Analyzes engineering/manufacturing sketches, data, & proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal and modeling solutions.
Confers with engineering & manufacturing personnel to clarify or resolve problems on product designs.
Prepares product model structure and implements product layout through detailed drawings and schematics.
Directs and coordinates with manufacturing to build prototype products.
Assists in testing and data collection of prototype & first run product introductions.
Confers with other engineering personnel to prepare design modifications as required.
Use 3-D/Solids modeling (PTC CREO) computer assisted engineering design software to perform engineering and design tasks.
Maintains proficiency in all aspects of Solids modeling including parts creation, assemblies, sheet metal, piping/electrical routing, & PDM.

Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school in engineering design via CAD software & 3 years' experience with 3-D/solids modeling software; or a minimum of seven years related experience in 3-D/Solids modeling (preferably PTC CREO); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Have a proven ability to write routine test reports and normal business correspondence.
Exhibit a strong ability to speak effectively with fellow employees one-on-one or in a group setting.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively, written or orally, with customers in a business environment.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to handle all normal high school level mathematics.
The individual must be able to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and be able to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to resolve drawing/model problems using the 3-D/solids modeling environment.
Work with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must have a strong working knowledge of 3-D/Modeling (preferably PTC CREO) software to develop parts designed principally around metal components & sheet metal fabrications.
The individual must be able to assemble the various components into an integrated assembly with complete bill of material.
Fluent use of Microsoft Spreadsheet and Word Processing software is essential.
