Responsibilities
As a Production Manager you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and leading staff, equipment, materials and activities used in the manufacturing process. The primary objective is to effectively lead and manage as you organize, coordinate and allocate all necessary resources to ensure attainment of safety, quality and production goals within the facility. The secondary objective is to consult with other production managers on processing issues and solutions. Responsible for ensuring direct reports (supervisors) maintain a good working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as chemistry or engineering.
Four to six years of production and/or process management experience; experience in the manufacture of vinyl compounds is a plus.
Demonstrated abilities to lead and manage a production group to achieve positive results.
ERP experience is preferred.
Proven experience promoting safety and quality management practices.
Demonstrated skills in organizational, motivational, analytical and problem-solving; providing strong leadership and a well-defined customer focus.
Experience in implementing continuous improvement projects such as lean manufacturing and/or six sigma is a plus.
Experience in a union environment and working with a collective bargaining agreement highly desired.
Strong written and verbal communications skills are needed.
